'Songs of the Month' coming soon

Everything music-related on this site is posted here.
Right now there will be 'Songs of the Month',
and recommendations talked about at various lengths in a
not-quite-legitimate review format, with the goal of sharing music.

Album recommendations will usually only include a couple specific tracks
- again, talked about at various lengths - to avoid my brain from imploding.
Song Recs will usually be a drop-and-go.

It's Cat by c418.

Yes, it's true. I am a Minecraft enjoyer. Granted, I have never had anything to do with the Enderdragon in my fuckin' life, and I wasn't one of those kids who played it for hours with my parents' constant yelling in the background, trying to ignore their incoming divorce like those people who ignore incoming trains when they drop their hat on some tracks.

I watched Yogscast while it was happening instead. It's basically the same thing.

Very nostalgic!

Mostly beloved by me, Paralytic Stalks is a classic life crisis dropped by American psych pop band 'of Montreal' in 2012 (the name, of course, being influenced from a failed romance and not indicative of where the band is from. Fun fact).

The first track I heard from this album was We Will Commit Wolf Murder, a song that very much had a grasp on my collar and still hasn't let go. At a time where I was very familiar with a type of insane disillusionment, alienation from the feel of the human race and overall angst, discovering it had felt like stepping into a psychiatrist's office - one where the psychiatrist enables you and shouldn't have gotten a license but it all ends up helping you in some fucked up way. The vibe is also off the charts. The instrumental, lyrics and vocals behind them all form - what is to me - psychosis. Spiteful Intervention, another track on this album, is more of a loud depression. Angry. It's anxious, manic, and covered in self-loathing.

Whether any of this sounds appealing, "interesting", or repelling, I still urge you to give not only these tracks a listen, but the album in its entirety, as I think of it as an experience that has at least something to offer.
